School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (SPAV), was established on July 7, 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MoE), Government of India, as an autonomous institution. SPAV is a premier Centrally Funded Technical Institution (CFTI) directly under the MoE, for excellence in the fields of Planning and Architecture. Although in its nascent stage, with experienced faculty and guest lectures by eminent visiting faculty and industry experts from all over the country, the quality of education imparted and its focus on research puts SPAV in the league of leading institutes in the country.

Sustainable Water Management for Urban & Rural Andhra Pradesh – One-Day National Conference
School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada is organising a One-Day National Conference on “Sustainable Water Management for Urban & Rural Andhra Pradesh” with the theme “Towards a Circular, Climate-Resilient Water Economy” on 29 August 2026 at Krishnaveni Sabhagar, SPA Vijayawada. The conference will bring together policymakers, practitioners, academics, researchers, financiers, and water-sector experts to deliberate on water security, circular water economy and Indigenous Knowledge Systems, digital twins and emerging technologies, and water supply chain management and financing.
NCC Naval Wing Raising Ceremony Successfully Held at SPA Vijayawada
The NCC Naval Wing Raising Ceremony was successfully held at the School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada on 20 August 2026. The ceremony marked an important milestone in strengthening NCC activities at the Institute and providing students with opportunities for leadership, discipline, character building, and exposure to naval traditions and activities.
Inauguration Ceremony of the Weekly Yoga Sessions
School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada is pleased to invite students, faculty members, and staff to the Inauguration Ceremony of the Weekly Yoga Sessions on 19 August 2026 at 4:00 PM at the First Floor, OAT, SPAV. The initiative aims to promote physical well-being, mental clarity, stress reduction, and a healthier campus environment. The weekly sessions will be conducted on Wednesdays of the 1st and 3rd weeks of every month and every Saturday from 4:15 PM to 5:00 PM. The programme is organized by the Yoga & Health Committee, SPAV.
