The 'Bachelor of Planning' is a professional technical course that judiciously trains wards in various aspects of designing, engineering, managing and resolving challenges related to urban human settlements. The Department of Planning offers a 4 year (8 semester) under-graduate programme in planning that is unique in the sub-continent and contextual to modern challenges of urbanisation. The course was envisaged and developed in late 1990s by the Govt. of India to meet the shortage of urban planners in the country.
