Dr. Shovan K. Saha pursued his B.Arch from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Town and Country Planning with specialization in Urban and Regional Planning from the same institute. He later obtained a Dr.Engg. from Kyoto University, Japan. He taught at School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and later in the Department of Environmental Planning.

While serving in the United Nations Centre for Regional Development, Nagoya, Japan as an International Research Fellow, he worked on conservation of historic cities and metropolitan housing in Asia. As a Professor, he guided many students in their doctoral thesis and had himself presented/published many papers. He is also a successful professional, having handled several prestigious national and international assignments with elan.

He has been associated with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim (NTNU), Norway, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal and some Japanese Universities as a researcher and academician. He is a registered architect with the Council of Architecture, India and a Fellow of Institute of Town Planners, India.
